Mrs. Annie Lee Saunders Russell, 63, of the Lone Valley Community in Taylor County, daughter of the late Mr. A.J. Saunders and Mrs. Ermine Lane Saunders, was born in Taylor County, February 26, 1902. She died suddenly at 8:45 p.m. Sunday, September 5th, in the Rosary Hospital. Since early in life she has been a member of the Green River Memorial Baptist Church. She united in marriage to Claude Russell, August 24, 1923 and to this union, seven sons and three daughters were born. Surviving are, Tom Russell of Larue County, Bob Russell, Wallace Russell and Leslie Russell, all of Route 5, Richard Russell of Route 1, Fred Russell of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Russell McVay of Route 4, and Mrs. Gilbert Wilson of Route 5. Besides her husband and children, she is survived by seventeen grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one brother, Mr. Bob Saunders of Lexington, two sisters, Mrs. Albert Stewart, of Rt. 5, Mrs. Orris Warf, of Rt. 4, ; one half-brother, Mr. Ed Saunders of Fort Worth, Texas, and one half-sister, Mrs. Fred Faulkner, sr. of Route 4.; Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 7th in the Green River Memorial Baptist Church by Rev. Landon Hadley and Dr. Harvey Morrison, with burial in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Bernard Fain, Welby Willis, Dean Antle, W.G. Perkins, Dale Willis and Morris Glenn Perkins.
