Fred Lewis Russell, 29, Route 5 , son of Mr. Claude Russell and the late Mrs. Annie Saunders Russell, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, January 16, 1937. He died enroute to the General Hospital in Louisville, due to injuries received from an automobile accident which occurred on Hwy. 208, one mile east of Campbellsville on the Spurlington Road around 8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 12th. Fred Lewis had been making his home in Chicago for the past two years and was employed by the Dabert Chemical Company. He professed faith in Christ early in life and was a member of Green River Memorial Baptist Church. He enlisted and served four years with the United States Air Force.He is survived by his father, Mr. Claude Russell, route 5; his mother Mrs. Annie Saunders Russell, preceded him in death, Sept. 5, 1965. Besides his father, he is also survived by five brothers and two sisters; Bob Russell, Leslie Russell, and Wallace Russell, all of Route 5, Richard Russell of Route 1, Tom Russell of Hodgenville, Mrs. Russell McVay of Route 4,Mrs. Gilbert Wilson of Route 5, and grandmother, Mrs. R.H. Russell Route 5. Funeral services were 2 p.m., Monday, February 14th, in the Green River Memorial Baptist Church by Rev. Landon Hadley and Rev. Harvey Morrison. Burial in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Phillip Barnett, Walter Rhodes, Donald Gaines, David Gaines, Morris Perkins, and Kenneth Shreve.
