Albert Leet Galusha of Verona died Sunday of a heart attack
while attending services at Caldwell Methodist Church. He was 83.
In 1919 Mr Galusha designed and built the first gas producing power plant used to propel a vessel across the Atlantic. He held several patents for gas generators.

Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, he spent his youth in Jericho, Vermont. He was a descendant of Jonas Galusha, one of the first governors of Vermont.
Mr. Galusha moved to Caldwell in 1920. He resided 21 years in West Caldwell and 20 years in Verona.
Mr. Galusha received a B.S. Degree from Dartmouth College in 1899, and an engineer degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1901. In 1920, he became a director and engineer for the Gas Generator and Engineering
Corp. of New York. From 1926-35 he was chief engineer for the Dover Boiler Works, Dover. From 1936 until his retirement in 1957 he was chief engineer in the Gas
Generator Division, Wellman Engineering Co., Cleveland.
He also has worked as a consultant for manufacturing concerns in England, Spain, South Africa, Australia and Japan.
He was an author of articles on power plants in several foreign and domestic technical publications.
He was an honorary member of the American Society of Mechanical engineers.
He leaves his wife Mrs. Isabel Cochran Galusha......
