Monroe City---Funeral services for Clyde Edward Berlin, 53, Monroe City, have been scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, at the Monroe City Methodist Church. The Rev. David Griffin is to officiate with burial in Andrew Chapel Cemetery in Marion County, Mrs. William Kern is to be organist; soloist, George Spalding.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. today, until noon, Saturday, at the Garner Funeral Home, then at the church until time of services.
Casket bearers are to be Paul Walker, Robert Lanham, Ted Evans, Eugene Zeiger, Charles Ford, and Joe C. Buckman.
Mr. Berlin died at 10:45 a.m., Thursday, at Levering Hospital where he had been a patient for one month.
He was born October 04, 1917, in Monroe County, a son of Edward A. and Shirley May King Berlin. He was married October 16, 1937, in Monroe City, to Gladys Lee Miller, she survives. He had attended Monroe County Schools, was a veteran of World War II, a member of the Methodist Church and was employed for a number of years at the former Brownings Furniture Store.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Ted (Carol) Piatt, Round Springs, MO.; six sons, Floyd, Longview, TX., Harold, Ft. Leonard Wood, MO., Herman, John, and Wesley (Dub) Berlin all of Grand Prairie, TX., and Joe of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Leonard (Frances) Long, Long Beach, California, Mrs. Marvin (Betty) Gay of Monroe City, and a brother, Buell (Bud) Berlin of Philadelphia.
