Roland A. Laframboise (Lieut. W.W.F.D.), 72, of Leaf Street, died Saturday at the V.A. Regional Medical Center after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Marjorie L. (Cherms) Laframboise, they would have celebrated their 35th Wedding Anniversary May 20, 2007. Born in West Warwick, he was a son of the late Alphonse and Irene (Decesare) Laframboise.

Mr. Laframboise was a Lieutenant with the West Warwick Fire Department for 40 years, retiring in 1995. He had served in The United States Army. He was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church, where he served as Chairman of the Property Committee, The Greenwood Volunteer Fire Museum, and the Crompton Veterans Club.

He was the loving father of Robert P. Taft of Soeul, Korea, Frank J. Taft of West Warwick, and the late Sandra A. Sherman. Cherished grandfather of five and great grandfather of two. He was the brother of the late Alfred Laframboise (Btl. Chief W.W.F.D.) and Claire Pettigrew.

His Funeral Service will be held Friday at 10:00 am in Lakewood Baptist Church, 259 Atlantic Avenue, Warwick. Burial will follow in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday 6-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to Lakewood Baptist Church would be appreciated.
