HONOLULU (AP)---Funeral services were held today for ORA FORMAN, 66 year old bowling and boxing promoter who died unexpectedly at his Honolulu home Monday night.

Ora Forman, (1888-1954) was an American boxing promoter. Forman initially promoted in San Jose, CA, during the 1920s, becoming the city's first successful promoter, at San Jose's Westside Arena, Eastside Arena, and later at an arena that bore his name, Forman's Arena.
During the early-to-mid 1930s, Forman was the promoter in Oakland. While promoting in Oakland, he promoted many of Heavyweight champion Max Baer's early fights in Oakland, before Baer moved on to bigger matches in San Francisco, and other big cities. As of 1944, Forman was promoting bowling, putting on an event in Long Beach, California in September 1944.
