Obituary for Andre Willie Sr.
Andre Lamont Willie Sr. went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at the age of 60 years, after a sudden illness. He was born in Gonzales, TX. and grew up and resided in Alice, TX. Andre Sr., graduated from Texas A&M University – College Station with a degree in petroleum engineering. He later graduated from Texas A&I University with a degree in civil engineering and began his career with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and retired from the organization in 2014. In between working for TxDOT he started a septic system company BAC that later evolved into the engineering company ALW Engineering. With the help of his children, wife, and workers he was able to provide engineering services to the surrounding communities, specializing in Windstorm inspections and other structural work.
Andre, Sr. will be remembered for his unwavering Christian faith that was represented in the way he lived his life and his influence on others. He was member of True Light Missionary Baptist Church for several years and ordained Deacon.
He is preceded in death by his father Lafayette and brother Anthony. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 36 years, Griselda “Crisi” (Rodriguez), sons Andre, Jr. (Sara) and Karl (Erica), daughters Jessica and Alessia, mother Cornelia, and sisters Adrienne and Carmen.
Visitation services will be held on Friday, October 5, at 5:00 p.m. with the vigil beginning at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 801 S. Reynolds St., Alice, TX 78332.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 6 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 801 S. Reynolds St., Alice, TX 78332. A burial will follow at Roberson-Collins Cemetery.
