Andrew David C. Askew Jr., son of Andrew David C. Askew Sr. and Ollie Maude Everett, both of Atlanta, Ga., was born in Sperry, Okla., on Feb. 20, 1921, and passed away quietly May 12, 2007, at his home in Ardmore.
Andy is survived by Jo Ethridge Askew, his wife of 62 years; his sister, Mary; his five sons, Warren, Marc, Michael and wife, Stephanie, Randy and wife, Cindy, and Kurt, and grandchildren, Emily, Hayden, Luke, Micaela, Jessi, Natalie, Eric, Sam and Andy.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Oneita, and brothers, Everett and Warren.
Andy attended Oklahoma A&M (OSU), graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and made his career in microbiology. He was a infantry training lieutenant in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in Louisiana.

Bearers for interment in Ardmore Hillcrest Memorial Park will be Bill Parker, Mike Carr, Monroe Cosey, Mike McComber, Wayne Laske and Don Yeager as Captain. Craddock Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
