Julia B. Rhoads, 91, of Minersville, passed away Tuesday at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

Julia was born in Minersville on Jan. 17, 1927, a daughter of the late Anna Fedeles and Michael Bodak.

She was the widow of Leonard J. Rhoads Sr. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel, Minersville, and the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Minersville.

She was formally employed as a floor supervisor in the local garment industry. Past president of the ILGWU Local 350, member of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Sodality and active with St. Michael the Archangel Church. Julia had coordinated local bus trips to various casinos for 20 years.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Leonard, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Anna Dobles and Mary Fabrizio.

Julia is survived by two sons, Leonard J. Rhoads Jr. and Gary J., husband of Marian Rhoads. She is also survived by grandchildren, Jason Rhoads, Dr. Abby Rhoads, wife of Todd Richards, Jennifer Rhoads Esq., wife of Mark Warner, great-grandchildren, Brock and Logan Warner and Alexi Rhoads.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael the Archangel, Minersville, with the Rev. Christopher M. Zelonis officiating. All are respectfully invited to attend a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville, as well as from 7 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Minersville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael the Archangel Memorial Fund. Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville, is entrusted with the arrangements.
