Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden with Deacon Tim Murphy officiating.
Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 5 – 7 P.M. at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden and will resume at 9:30 A.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home until the time of service.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden.
Born on February 18, 1963 in Oskaloosa, IA, he was the son of Bob and Joan (Young) Carter. David grew up in Cedar, IA, and graduated from Eddyville High School in 1981. Following high school, he worked several construction jobs in various locations in the mid-west. He was married to Janetta Van Gorp in 1987. The couple divorced in 1995.
David later married Renee Willey on September 5, 2009 in Soldier, IA. David and Renee made their home in Glidden where he worked construction and most recently for the City of Glidden as Public Works Foreman. Dave enjoyed riding his motorcycle, collecting Harley Memorabilia and tools, camping, and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
David is survived by his wife, Renee; his father, Bob; a daughter, Jennifer; a son, Michael; six grandchildren: Courtland, Oliver, Oden, October, Tanner, and Conner; a step-daughter, Christy (Eric); a step-son, Tim (Leah); a step-daughter, Jessica (Kevin); two sisters, Lori (Steve) and Michelle; a brother, Bob (Sheli); three brothers-in-law, Ronnie (Mary), Roger (Peggy), and Rick (Carla); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
David was preceded in death by his mother, Joan Carter and his father-in-law, Virgil Nieland.
