Mrs. Elizabeth Allen Allgood aged 66, wife of Mr. J M. (Melton) Allgood, died at the home of a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Smith in the Caseyville territory, after a protracted illness, and the funeral was held at the Macedonia church at noon Friday. The J. M. Allgood home burned last summer.
Mrs. Allgood has been virtually an invalid of late months. She was one of the most esteemed members of her home community in the Grange Hall Caseyville neighborhood, and was a member of the Macedonia Baptist church. One of her sons lost his life as a member of the A. E. F. in the World War.
Rev. "Bill" Rogers of Crystal Springs, a friend of the Allgood family of many years, and their former pastor, conducted the funeral service which was attended by a very large number of relatives, friends and acquaintances. Beautiful flowers indicated the sympathy and regard of friends. Interment was made in Macedonia cemetery.
Surviving Mrs. Allgood are her husband, Mr. J. M. Allgood; her daughters, Mrs. Janie Case, Mrs. Ethel Case, and Mrs. Katie Case, and her sons, Messrs. Allen and Louie Allgood, who have the sympathy of friends in their sad loss.
