Obituary of Mary Irwin
Mary Ester Irwin, 77, of Windsor, Missouri, died Saturday morning, October 6, 2018, at her home in Windsor.

She was born November 3, 1940, in Mora, New Mexico, the daughter of Harry Sturgis Dyer and Lilly Evan (Chavez) Dyer. On February 17, 1967, in Portales, NM, she married William Leroy "Bill" Irwin and he survives of the home.

Mary was a 1959 graduate from Portales High School. She worked as a type-setter for the Portales News-Tribune for several years. When her husband, Bill, joined the United States Air Force, they were stationed in several areas including Turkey, Spain, California, and Virginia, and had three children during this time. After Bill's military service, the family moved back to the Southwest and settled in Arizona. When the children were older, Mary went back to work outside the home for Biddulph Oldsmobile in Glendale, Arizona for several years and then Phoenix Metal Craft for 11 years. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, collecting dolls and loved to play the piano and sing in the church choir. She was a member of the University Drive Church of Christ in Portales, NM and attended First Baptist Church in Windsor after moving to Windsor in July, 2006.

In addition to her husband Bill, survivors include a son, William G. Irwin, Phoenix, AZ; 2 daughters, Amy Henrichsen, Phoenix, AZ, and April Williams, Warrensburg, MO; 17 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters, Lucy Metcalf, Mountain Air, NM, Irene Peck, Phoenix, AZ, Ida Denny, Oregon City, Oregon, and Alice Griffith and Nellie Dyer, both of Portales, NM; a brother, Earl S. Dyer, Glendale, AZ; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Harry G. Dyer; and a sister, Lilly Moore.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 20, 2018, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Pastor Ken Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.

Job 1:21 And he said, "Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord."
