Barbara R. (Dunlap) Tavers, age 81, of Swansea, passed away Monday, October 8, 2018 in Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Taunton, a daughter of the late James and Alice (Pillsbury) Dunlap, she has been a longtime resident of Swansea. Barbara worked at Texas Instruments many years ago. She enjoyed spending time with her family, golfing, spending time with friends at Burger King, playing bingo and shopping at the Salvation Army in Swansea.

She is survived by one daughter, Pamela Tavers and her husband Andrew Gagnon of Swansea, one son, Timothy Newman and his wife Teresa of Middleboro; two brothers, George Mallette and his wife Lucille of Florida, Richard “Lefty” Mallette and his wife Lucille of East Taunton; one sister, Margaret “Peggy” Studley and her husband Donald of Rochester, several nieces and nephews and many friends. She was the sister of the late James Dunlap, Alfred, William, John “Jack,” Robert and Andrew Mallette.

Private arrangements are in the care of the Waring-Sullivan Home at Rose E. Sullivan, Somerset.
