Joyce M. Erickson, 56, of Cumberland died April 28 at Cumberland Hospital. Funeral services were Tuesday morning at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Cumberland, with the Rev. Andrew Ricci officiating and burial at the church cemetery.
Mrs. Erickson was born Aug. 27, 1950 in Cumberland to Ligorie "Gary" and Meredyth (Briggs) Labbe. She graduated from Cumberland High School in 1968 and married Wayne Erickson in Watertown, S.D., on May 24, 1971. Children were the love of her life, and she had a day care in her home for many years and was a Sunday school teacher, soccer coach and Island City Woman of the Year. Mrs. Erickson also enjoyed scrapbooking and camping.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne; four sons, Thomas, James, Zachary and Leighton; and a daughter, Jasmine Erickson, all of Cumberland; her mother, Meredyth Labbe of Cumberland; a sister, Ginger Crotteau of Rice Lake; three brothers, David and Dan, both of Cumberland, and Mike of Gulfport, Miss.; and her mother-in-law, Leona Erickson of Cumberland.
