Mrs. Cora M. Bowen, 84, Park county resident for 40 years and a former resident of Hysham and Red Lodge, died early Saturday, Dec. 30, at Memorial hospital after a long illness. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 at the Franzen chapel with burial in Mountain View Cemetery.
Robert Crawford was the officiating minister; Margaret Heinrich, organist, and Joyce Mosback, soloist. Pallbearers were Chester Ayres, Glenn Blakeslee, Harold Eggar, Lawrence Carpenter, George Morrison and Frank Theisen.
Born in Illinois August 30 , 1883, Mrs. Bowen spent her early life and attended school there and on April 15, 1900 married Lewis A. Bowen in Macomb, Ill. The family moved to Montana and had resided here continuously. They moved to Park county in 1927 and resided on a ranch in the Shields Valley until moving to Livingston in 1943. Her husband died here June 1, 1955. She was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Surviving are three sons, T. Lucius Bowen of Livingston, Bill Bowen of Anaconda and Frank of Billings; six daughters, Mrs. Lydia Urie, Mrs. Ed Riley and Mrs. P. A. Martin of Livingston, Mrs. Lee Yates of Fromberg, Mrs. J. L. Bradford of Bremerton, Wn., and Mrs. Nancy Bentley; a brother, Carl Culp of Billings, and a sister, Mrs. Leona Watson of Wisconsin; 29 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
