Berniece R. Rose was born November 24, 1925 in Wray, Colorado to the late Paul W. & Emma Elizabeth (Jacoby) Gartin.

She married Kenneth Derowitsch on October 19, 1947 and to this union two daughters Nancy and Deanna were born.

She later married Lyle Rose. They loved playing cards, watching the grandkids sporting events, and traveling.

Berniece worked at Campus Pharmacy in Greeley, Colorado for many years managing the fountain and food service. After leaving the pharmacy she worked at the University of Northern Colorado Bookstore. She retired in 1987 and she and Lyle and sometimes Bernadel spent years traveling with the Good Sam's RV Club and spending winters in Yuma, Arizona.

After Lyle's death she moved to Texas to be closer to Deanna. Quilting became her passion and her quilts will always be a loving gift and remembrance for her family.

Berniece went to be with The Lord on October 10, 2018 at the Baylor, Scott, and White Hospital in Texas after a decline in her health.

She is survived by her daughters Nancy Croissant of Kersey, Colorado and Deanna Rose and husband Bill of Trophy Club, Texas and her stepson Martin Rose and wife Pam of Victorville, California. She was loved by her grandchildren David Croissant and wife Jaqui (Evans, CO), Amy Wehrman and husband Ryan (Kersey, CO), Tina LaMontagne and husband Jeff (Papillion, NE), Eric Rose and partner Meredith Scarcliff (Manistee, MI), and Christopher Rose and wife Brittany (Midvale, UT). She had the love of her great-grandchildren Abbey and Trevon Wehrman, Cael and Coel Croissant, Evan, Ryan, and Emma LaMontagne, and Rylee and Carter Rose. She is survived by her sister Shirley Ficke and husband Bob of Lincoln, Nebraska and many nieces and nephews.

Berniece is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Lucille Renzelman, Pauline Pudlik, Bernadel Fisher, Marion Gartin, and Janice Haack, her husband Lyle Rose and son-in-law Ron Croissant.

A rosary and fellowship will be held at Schmidt-Jones Funeral Home on October 19, 2018 at 7:00 P.M. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Andrews Catholic Church October 20, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. followed by her burial at the Grandview Cemetery in Wray, Colorado.
