On Thursday, October 11, 2018, Gregg Alan Black, age 67, of Kentwood, suddenly went to be with his Lord. Born October 16, 1950, Gregg will symbolically be laid to rest on October 16, 2018. Gregg was not the kind of person who could be described in a few paragraphs. He was, however, one of a kind. He loved making people laugh and his personality, mannerisms, and attitude created joy in others. His friends were many and he was loved by all. Gregg will be deeply missed by his wife of 42 years, Lindy; son, McCann (April) Black, grandson, Jett; daughter, Whitney Black and fiance, Steven Phillips; mother-in-law, Phyllis Cummings; brothers and sisters, Craig (Sherry) Black, Jeff (Betsy) Black, Wendy (Tim) McGillicuddy; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Wes (Terri) Cummings, Kathy (Chuck) Barr, Julie (Pat) Palmer, Craig (Chris) Cummings; many nieces, and nephews, and close friends, Ozzie Venama, Craig Meade, and Jerry Konwinski. The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, October 15, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm at Stroo Funeral Home where the funeral service will be held at 11 am Tuesday, October 16. Pastor Ryan Black will officiate. Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
