Jack Vernon Altizer, 82, a resident of Roanoke County, Va., passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018, in his home surrounded by his loving family and friends. He passed peacefully embraced with love and light.
Jack was born on September 3, 1936, in West Virginia, and was widow of his wife of almost fifty years, Betty Enicks Altizer. Jack was a graduate of University of Pittsburgh and of the University of West Virginia Law School. Jack practiced law in Charleston, West Virginia, Richmond, Virginia, and Roanoke, Virginia. In Roanoke, Jack practiced law with his daughter, Bettina C. Altizer, before retiring in 2012.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Bettina, his companion Marlene Williamson, Brooke and Broc Buckner, and other beloved friends and family members. Jack was a member of the Roanoke Kazim Shriners.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 27th 2018 from 2-4pm at Oakey's South Chapel, 4257 Brambleton Ave., Roanoke, Va. 24018 and the Memorial Service will begin at 4p.m. at Oakey's South Chapel, 540-989-3131.
