Nettie was the daughter of William Floyd Billips and Louvenia Compton.

BILLIPS. ETHEL N., FALLS CHURCH - Ethel N. Billips, age 86 of Falls Church, Va., and formerly of Bland County, Va., died Thursday at the home of a sister in Falls Church. She was born in Tazewell Co., Va., a daughter of the late William Floyd and Louvenia Compton Billips. She was a retired elementary school teacher of the Bland County School Systems after many years of service. She is survived by three sisters, Alma Gross of Bastian, Va., Bertha Wiseman, Ruby Yates, both of Falls Church, Va.; two brothers, Woodrow Billips of Asheville, Tenn.; Eugene Billips of Bland, Va.; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Byrnes Chapel United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg, Va., with the Rev. J.D. Clark and the Rev. Marion Goodpasture officiating. Interment will be in the Mechanicsburg Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home, however, the family will receive friends at the church one hour before service time. Newberry Funeral Home in Bland, Va. is in charge of the arrangements.
