Jerry was born in La Junta, Colorado on October 2, 1940. He grew up in Swink with his parents Miles and Dorothy, and younger sister Sandra. Jerry attended school in Swink where he enjoyed playing football in high school. Jerry met the love of his life, Christine Bryant, in 1959. Christine and Jerry were married on March 11, 1960. They made their home in La Junta until they transferred with Nibco, where Jerry was employed. When Nibco closed in Colorado in 1989 they transferred him to Stuart's Draft, VI, Jerry and Christine returned to Colorado when he retired in 1991 from Nibco after 28 years of employment. They then moved to their property in Woodland Park, CO. They returned to live in Swink, CO in 2001 where they lived at the time of Jerry's passing.

Jerry traveled the world with his wife Christine. They have traveled to Greece, Brazil, London, Acapulco, Egypt, Israel, Germany, Austria, Indonesia, Singapore, India, Switzerland, Spain, New Zealand, Africa, The Netherlands, the Caribbean as well as Alaska, Hawaii and more! Jerry loved adventure and had a zest for life, traveling through all of the US and portions of Canada visiting friends and family. They also enjoyed wintering in Arizona for the past 30 years. Jerry is survived by his wife Christine; son, Randy (Julie) Chapman of Woodland Park; daughter, Vicki (Monte) Laubach of Portland, OR and grandchildren, Brock (Jennifer) of Colorado Springs, Megan of Denver, Chris Reith of Denver, and Brittany Reith of Colorado Springs. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and sister.

A memorial service will be Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Reverend Dr. MJ Romano of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Inurnment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
