ALEXANDRIA: Thomas Thomas, III 65, of Chicago, IL and a former Alexandria resident died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018 in Kindred Chicago Lake Shore Hospital while in the company of his family.

Tom was born in Muncie, IN on Oct. 27, 1952 and was the son of Thomas and Martha (Johnson) Thomas, Jr. He graduated from Alexandria-Monroe High School and Indiana University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in economics.

He attended Fort Presbyterian Church in Chicago.

He was passionate about his career with the Social Security Administration where he was a Senior Disability Claims Analyst for 40 years. During his 40 year career he was awarded numerous awards and commendations for his excellent and superior performance.

Left to cherish Tom’s memory is his sister, Kathy Graham; his niece, Jennifer Engeland; his nephew, Jeremy Graham. Also surviving are several cousins.

A celebration of Tom’s life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018 in Whetsel Funeral Service, 1503 S Park Ave., Alexandria with Rev. Peggy Alderman officiating. Burial will follow in Park View Cemetery.
