Jerome E. Beachler was born at Anderson, Ind., Dec. 30, 1855 and died at his home near Reynolds, Nebraska, April 19, 1922, aged 66 years, 3 months and 19 days.
He was married to Sarah A Moss Sept. 5 1878. To this union three children were born, two sons Leroy and Roscoe, and a daughter who died in infancy. Mrs. Sarah Beachler died March 29, 1885.
Mr. Beachler was again married this time to Henrietta Raper of Anderson, Ind., who survives him, Oct. 3, 1886. To this union four sons and six daughters were born. Two of these died in infancy. The living are Mrs. Lucy Hansmire of Reynolds; Mrs. Beulah Hughes of Randolph Iowa; Mrs. Nettie Smith of Scenic, S. D.; Mrs. Jessie Labough of Lincoln; Mrs. Jennie Smith of Chappell and Everett and Charles, who are at home.
He came to Nebraska settling in Thayer county, in the spring of 1880 where he became of her loyal citizens, entering into the life of the community. He was raised to the degree of Master Mason May 2, 1894. He united with the United Brethen church when he was a young man. When he came to Nebraska, he united with the Methodist church of which he was a faithful member to the end.
Besides the immediate family, he leaves one brother in California, a brother and sister in Indiana and a brother in Reynolds.
Funeral services were conducted at the church by the Methodist pastor and at the grave by the Masonic Lodge.
