Betty Lou Applegate, 86, of Memphis, IN, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2014.

Betty was born January 24, 1928 in Bicknel, IN, the daughter of Albert and Bertha Huntsinger. She married James Hal Applegate in June of 1947, following his service in the United States Navy. They were happily married for 66 years.

Betty graduated from Jeffersonville High School with the class of 1945. After raising three children, she returned to work for Clark County Government with the Recorders office, the Auditors office and the Treasurers office. She managed the Indiana Teachers Credit Union and finished her working career with the Centra credit union. She was twice president and historian of the Clarksville Business and Professional Women's Club. She was a founding member and past president of the Class of 1945 Foundation, a philanthropic group dedicated to providing scholarships to students of Jeffersonville High School.

She was a long time member of Howard Park Christian Church in Clarksville, IN and Central Christian Church.in Clearwater, FL.

She is survived by her loving husband Jim, two daughters, Sally Trebing (Nick), Laura Money (Bobby) a son, Brian ,
