Shippensburg - Jeanne L. Gillan, 86, of 7500 Molly Pitcher Highway, Shippensburg, died at 12:48 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, in Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Aug. 16, 1916, in Sherwood Park, N.J.(Error: birth date and place per NY Certificate of Birth is Aug. 18, 1916 and 51 Sherwood Ave., 9th Ward, Yonkers, Westchester, NY); she was the daughter of Charles A. and Cora Benedict Little.

A graduate of Shippensburg University, she worked for her husband, Justice of the Peace John Gillan, Chambersburg. Mr. Gillan died in 1974.

She was a member of the Pennsylvania Humane Society.

Surviving are two nieces, Virginia L. Hege of Fayetteville and Patricia Oliver of Chambersburg; and two nephews, Charles G. Little of Pine Top, Ariz., and John A. Little Jr. of Chambersburg.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles B. Little and John A. Little Sr.

Funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be in Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cumberland Valley Humane Society, 2325 Country Road, Chambersburg 17201.
