John "Jack" Charles Abbott, age 73 of The Lakes died Thursday, April 5, 2007 at Waccamaw Community Hospital. Born August 31, 1933 in Montclair, NJ, he was the son of the late Frank and Sophie Wanter Abbott. Mr. Abbott was a US Army veteran. He had retired in 1993 from Hofman-LaRoche in New Jersey. Mr. Abbott was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church where he was very supportive in mnay church activiities. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was active in Help 4 Kids. Mr. Abbott was a loving, caring husband and father. Surviving are his wife, Carol Abbott; sons, John C. Abbott, III of Wayne, NJ and Douglas J. Abbott of Myrtle Beach; grandchildren, John C. Abbott, IV and Christopher Abbott and many nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be said 11:00 AM, Monday at St. Michael Catholic Church. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00, Sunday at the church.
