Diana L. Borders, 66, of Galion, passed away Monday, October 22, 2018 at her home after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Diana was born in Galion, Ohio on March 11, 1952 to the late Clarence and Maxine (Haycook) Deffendoll. She married Richard D. Borders on July 14, 1970 and he survives her.
Diana worked and retired from Whirpool after 12 years of service. She was a life time member of the Amvets Post #1979 of Galion. She was involved in many of the clubs in Galion such as the Women of the American Legion Post 243 and the Women of the Moose Lodge #303. Diana was a very caring person and would do anything for anyone. Her main goal was to always make sure her boys were happy. Diana loved to clip coupons. In Diana's free time, she loved to hit the stores and go shopping with all those coupons. She was a huge animal lover and loved her dogs. Being with all her family as often as possible is what made Diana the happiest.
In addition to her husband Richard of 48 years, she is survived by 3 sons, Bradley (Toby) Borders of Galion, Steven Borders of Galion, Jammy (Angela) Borders of Iberia;
9 grandchildren, Joseph, Joshua (Brittnay), Samantha, Brandie, Peyton, Alexandria, Richard, Nicholas, Jorden; 3 great-grandchildren, Adyson and twins, Oakly and Bently; half-brother, Bobby (Jeri) Deffendoll of Mt. Gilead; half-sister, Joan Smorick of Florida.
Friends may call Friday October 26, 2018 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion. Burial will take place in Iberia Cemetery at a later date.
