Daniel Haines Hillman was born on February 20, 1864 in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee, the son of Charles Ellis Hillman (1817–1892) and Mary Louise (Erwin) Hillman (1829–1898).
A retired railroad official living at 116 31st Avenue North in Nashville, he was 81 years old and single when he died at home of arteriosclerosis on January 23, 1946. Burial was two days later in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Nashville.
