PARSONSFIELD -- Alan Francis MacDonald Sr., 72, of Fenderson Road, died on Oct. 28, 2007, at the Maine Veteran's Home in Scarborough.
He was born in Biddeford, on Nov. 9, 1934, the son of Francis Sr. and Teofilia MacDonald. As a child, he attended Saco schools and graduated from Thornton Academy. Mr. MacDonald proudly served his country by enlisting into the U.S.M.C. during the Korean War.
Throughout his life, Alan worked as a truck driver with companies such as Hutchins Trucking. He was a member of the Mineral Society and once served as vice president. He enjoyed Bingo, gardening, lawn mowing and caring for his yard, nature, fishing, going out to eat, and square dancing.
He is predeceased by his wife, Joan (Perkins) MacDonald. Mr. MacDonald is survived by his son, Alan MacDonald Jr. of Saco; a daughter, Mona McLaughlin and her husband Robert of West Gardiner; a step son, Keith Tibbetts of Parsonsfield; a step daughter, Kathleen Lane of Cornish; seven grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; two step great- grandchildren; and many cousins.
Visiting hours will be on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, located on the corners of Rts. 202 and 4A (13 Portland Road) in Buxton. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday morning at 11 a.m. A committal service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco. The Rev.
