Theda June Gerdes 1922 - 2007 Theda June Gerdes, 84 of Twin Falls, Idaho passed away May 14, 2007 at Sunbridge Care Meridian, in Meridian, Idaho. Theda was born June 12, 1922 in Blackfoot, Idaho, the daughter of Myron and Sarah (Merkley) Peterson. She attended elementary school in Wapello, Idaho and graduated from Blackfoot High School. She then attended and graduated from LDS Business School in Salt Lake City, Utah. As a child, Theda loved to go camping with her parents and her brother, Mark. She also enjoyed attending the Peterson Family reunions. She was active in church and school, and enjoyed participating in all kinds of sports, including softball, swimming, track, skiing and golf. Theda married Blaine Gerdes in Youngstown, Ohio in 1944. The marriage was later solemnized in the LDS Temple in Logan, Utah. To this union was born a son, Bradley and a daughter, Jill Moore. She and Blaine traveled a lot during their marriage, visiting family and friends all over the United States, Europe and Canada. She maintained an active lifestyle playing golf and she served as President of the Women's Golf Association in Idaho Falls, before she and Blaine moved to Twin Falls. Theda worked as consultant for Job Service. She retired with 22 years of service. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and she will be deeply missed. Survivors include her son, Bradley Gerdes of Taiwan, her daughter, Jill (Richard) Moore of Meridian, Idaho, grandchildren, Matt, Sarah, and Jacob Gerdes, and Nathan & Mikayla Moore. Her parents, her brother, Mark and her beloved husband, Andrew Blaine Gerdes, preceded her in death. Funeral Services for Theda will be held Monday, May 21, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Twin Falls First Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 847 Eastland Drive, Twin Falls, Idaho. Interment will follow at approximately 3 p.m. at the Grove City Cemetery, Blackfoot, Idaho.
