Find a Grave contributor, Silverfox (Norris Taylor), reports that Henrietta Whitney was the granddaughter of Jonathan Edwards, initiator of "The First Great Awakening" in the 1730's and 1740's: "This was a religious movement in America that had a great impact on the future of America."

He also notes that her Edwards lineage was from William Edwards, the Puritan immigrant, one of the first settlers of Hartford, Connecticut: Henrietta-6, Pierpont-5, Jonathan-4, Timothy-3, Richard-2, William-1.
