Even though her obit has her as Hammel, she married August 19, 1905 Alfred Adams - they divorced by 1920 which accounts for her using her maiden name. Her name is spelled as per their marriage license.

Sadie Hammel, Former Teacher, Dies in Hospital

Miss Sadie Hammel, 92, a retired school teacher, died yesterday at 3:00 p.m. at the Kings Daughters hospital. She resided at 512 Walnut stret.

She was born in Scott county, but had lived most of her life in Madison and Jefferson county. She taught briefly at the Eggleston school, and had taught many years at the Lower Clifty School, also Rykers Ridge and Eagle Hollow grade schools. She attended the First Baptist church in this city.

She leaves one nephew, Edward Adams, Holton; and five nieces: Mrs. Hal Giltner, Milan; Mrs. Hughey Craigmyle, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Charles Giltner, Brooksburg; Mrs. Alice Horton, Madison; and Mrs. Earl Sauer, Westport.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Lytle Mortuary, with Rev. Ralph E. Gronseth officiating. Burial will be in Springdale cemetery. Friends mayc all at the mortuary after noon Firday.
