OBIT - The funeral of Jimmie Adair was held at two o'clock Friday afternoon April 4th at the Lone Star Brethren church. Rev. C. A. Ward preached the funeral sermon. Burial was in Colyer cemetery. Mr. Adair died at this home in Norman, Oklahoma, April 1. For many years he lived at Lone Star and ran the Home Central Telephone office. (Lawrence KS Daily Journal Friday April 11, 1919).

In late October, 2018, I scouted this cemetery hoping to find a gravestone for James. None was found. However, I did find his daughter, Evaline Adair Creel and her husband George L Creel. Facing their headstone, to the right is found the stone of their daughter Ruby Edith Creel (1908). To the right of that is found the stone of their son, Sylvester Stoner Creel (1905-1907). Immediately to the right of Sylvester's stone is this bush. James Stoner Adair outlived two wives (Mary Elizabeth Colyar Adair 1841-1873 and Anna Ulrich Cook Adair 1835-1912), plus both his daughter and son-in-law. At the time of his death, his Creel grandchildren ranged in age from 7 to 15 years old. Two sisters of his first wife are buried nearby the Creel headstones - Elizabeth Colyar Whitman and Susanna Colyar Hardtarfer. I believe this bush marks the final resting place of James Stoner Adair.
