He was the former fire chief for the Town of Sipsey. He was formerly a long time auxiliary police officer. He was a member and past master of Maryland Masonic Lodge #783 in Sipsey.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Sipsey Union Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Davie Jean Aaron; and his sister, Dean Capps.
Survivors include his children, Gary A. Aaron Jr., Vivian Waldrop (Travis), Elizabeth Jones and Jonathan Aaron (Tracy); grandchildren, Joshua and Lindsey Long, David and Matthew Jones, John David Aaron, Nick Sloan and Courtney Wallace; great-grandchildren, Brylee Long and Carrigan Wallace; sister, Georgie Light; several other relatives; and many friends.
