Aunt Mildred grew-up in Memphis on Carr Avenue, attending Central High School. After graduation, she attended the University of Mississippi/Ole Miss, in Oxford, where she was an "Ole Miss Favorite" and member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She met and married Lewis M. Kimbrough, of Itta Bena, MS, in May, 1935. They had one child, Lewis MacCaskill Kimbrough, Jr., born July 26, 1936. She later married F.A. Maddox. She loved to travel and enjoyed meeting people, and was an avid bridge player. She was a lot of fun to be around, and is missed very much. Thinking to be on the road to recovery, she tragically died of excessive blood loss due to cancer of the mouth while home alone.
