She married Francesco Eugenio Mancini in 1871, but had an extramarital affair with the Venetian boy Giuseppe Bennati Baylon. Her husband killed her lover, and they separated. She then had a relationship with Giuseppe Pierantoni, a painter from Naples, but one day, after a quarrell, Pierantoni shot and killed her. Evelina was buried in a mass grave at Verano Cemetery in Rome, because no one paid for a burial.
