Albert Claude Miles, was born on the 19th of February 1903 in Bourne, near Farnham, the son of Frederick William Miles and his wife Edith May. His father was a gardener.

In 1926 he was living in Frimley Green when he married Rosie Eileen Rumble at St Peter’s Church on the 13th of January 1926. They had three children, all born in Frimley. Ronald their son born in 1926 and two daughters Joan May born in 1927 and Pauline May born on the 24th of October 1940.

They lived for much of their married life at Alphington Stables where Albert was head gardener at the main house. When they left the stables they moved to Cedar in Frimley and Albert found work as Sexton at St Peter’s in Frimley. He kept the churchyard in good order, dug the graves and helped in the church for a period of at least 28 years.

Albert died at his home in Frimley on the 20th of April 1978. His ashes were deposited in his daughter’s grave on the 28th of April 1978.His parents are buried in Grave D2XIII. His son Ronald Walter Frederick Miles died in 1979 – his ashes are buried in Section 1 of Frimley graveyard.
