Lt. Col Philip McBride, US Air Fore (Ret) was the son of Walter E. McBride Jr and his wife, Lucile Finas McBride. His youth was spent in France where his father was an engineer on the US Airbase. He graduated from high school in New YOrk and attended the USAFA Prep School at the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs and a year later was appointed to the US Air Force Academy. He graduated with a B.S. in Physical Sciences in 1978 and was commissioned into the Air Force. He trained as a pilot and served 20 years of active duty before retiring and going to work for Delta Airlines. At the time of his death he was a Captain on the Airbus 320. Survivors include his wife, two children, two grandchildren, and three siblings.
