She was preceded in death by five of her children; James William Fielder, Garland Spencer Fielder, Maynard Julian Fielder, William Clayton Fielder and Norma Jean Raines Griffith; parents, Emma Jones Attaway and William Elishia Attaway of Deadwood, TX; brothers, Lon Attaway of Greenwood, LA and William Boots Attaway of Detroit, MI; sisters, Ivy Attaway Clark of Denton, TX and Eulalie Attaway McMillan of El Dorado, AR.
She is survived by her son, Travis Ray Whitley his wife Jannette of Las Vegas, NV, daughter-in-law, Mary Ruth Fielder of Shreveport, fifteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, twenty eight great-great grandchildren and five great-great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Whitley was a resident of the Glen Retirement Home in Shreveport. She has been a resident of the Shreveport area since 1940. Farming and running grocery stores was her livelihood until the early 50s when she went to work for O. D. Harrison Tobacco Company from whom she retired in the early 80s.
Visitation will be at Boone Funeral Home 3903 Meriwether Rd. in Shreveport, on Friday, May 6, 2005 from 6:00-9:00pm. Graveside services will be held at Deadwood Cemetery in Deadwood, TX on Saturday, May 7, 2005 at 11:00am
