A Military Funeral for R.C (Earl) Sweeten was held on Wednesday November 19th in the Bahner funeral home. R.C Sweeten was killed in Vietnam on November 12th. He was assigned to the First Infantry Division of the U.S Army. He was a veteran of the European theater of operations during World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was born on March 12, 1929 at Palmer Oklahoma, he lived in Oklahoma most of his life. He attended the Sulphur Oklahoma schools. Chaplain Leroy Raley of the Oklahoma Veteran Center officiated the service. Honor Guards was sent from Ft.Sill and interment was to Oaklawn Cemetery there at Sulphur Oklahoma.
R.C is survived by his wife Phyllis Sweeten of the home, two daughters Vickie and Sherry of the home, two sons, Dale and Ray of the home, his mother Beulah Sweeten of Sulphur, a sister Melvadine Hottel of Sulphur, and three brothers Don Sweeten of Oklahoma City Oklahoma, Guy Sweeten of Fresno California, and Sammie Sweeten of Tucson Arizona
