Watertown newspaper provided incorrect information and I have added corrections per photo images. Truth is obituary is a mess!
I believe the obit was referring to Chasm Falls near Malone, Franklin, NY even though only had typed the word " Falls". I had research name of Hubert Shorette of Brasher Falls but nothing indicating an Emma Shorette according to Find A Grave memorial search throughout all New York State. Also Hubert Shorette's bio did not list a daughter named Helen or spouse named Emma. The 1910 US Census did show Hubert Shorette married to Emma (likely maiden name is CLARK, sister of Alexander Clark) and 2 step children George and Nellie M. Mc Gee (Magee). Nellie is nickname for Helen. If they were Julia Robinson Magee's children then it is coincidence that the children birth year are relatively the same. Was Emma Shorette or other family member related to Arthur Magee and by chance being taken care of by Hubert and Emma Shorette in Brasher township 1910. I had uncovered some time ago and forgotten where this info came from but Julia Ella Robinson had divorced Arthur Magee in 1900. Also in US 1900 census indicates Julia was mother of 2 children. Uncertain about the birth year of Helen as being 1904 since other info regarding marriage or census did reflect 1900. Helen would of been 15 years old when she married Hugh Edward McDonald and if born 1900 she would of been 19. Obituary list Ogdensburg cemetery for burial but do not know which last name was used. I tried all surnames and did not come up with a F.A.G. memorial. Therefore, I created this memorial.

* no known children. Her brother, George Magee, had none.

When married to Hugh Edward McDonald - he was prosecuted for a crime committed in Dec. 1922 and sent to Clinton Prison for 2 yrs. 4 mos. in June 1924. (According to the Ogdensburg Republican Journal, Jan 28, 1924, Nellie McDonald, wife of Hugh, was sentenced to 4 months in the county jail for theft of a woman's cape at a dance in the State Armory last fall.) - apparently she got a divorce.
Ralph Wilbur Baker died in Cleveland, Ohio in 1950 from injuries. His obit does not list Helen, so another failed marriage.

Marriage Record to McDonald on Dec. 1, 1919 has name as Helen May Magee, birthplace as Helena, NY and she is 19 yrs old. Her father as Arthur Magee. Mother as Julia Robinson birthplace Ogdensburg. (Helena is a hamlet of Brasher, St. Lawrence, NY)
