Julian R. "Shu" Hall, 78 of Port Arthur died Monday at his home.

A Native of Hubbard, he was a lifelong Port Arthur resident. He was retired from the City of Port Arthur, where he worked as tax assessor-collector. He was married for 55 years and was a member of the Cosmopolitan Masonic Lodge No. 872, the El Mina Shrine, The Scottish Rite and was a former member of the Rotary Club of Port Arthur.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with the Rev. Roger Shuemate officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memoiral Park. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Marie; five sisters, Helen Lumbley and Betty Becker both of Port Arthur, Frances Middleton of Groves, Margaret Vusonnovich of Houston and Barbara Garner of Odessa; and seven brothers, Charles Hall, William "Bill" Hall and Harry Hall, all of Port Arthur; L.D. "Tony" Hall and E. E. "Cowboy" Hall, both of Groves, and Milton Hall and Donald Hall both of Port Neches.
