Mary was born on a farm in Ashland, Illinois on 12/18/1922 and at 17 years of age she left the country life to attend St Joseph’s School of Nursing in Chicago, Illinois. There Mary met the love of her life, Jack Bartuska, a WWII vet and career military officer. Mary and Jack married in 1945 and began their gypsy life in the military having 4 children and living or touring in over 25 foreign countries.
Over the years Mary’s family grew to 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and the joy of Mary’s last few years were the two great, great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack, and 2 of her grandchildren.
Since 1966 Mary has called Rockledge, FL home and she was a devout member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rockledge.
A Memorial Service for Mary will be held at 11:00am on November 26, 2018 at the Life Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local Hospice or Doctors Without Borders International Charity.
