He was born May 11, 1909, in Washington, a son of Grover C. Dixon and the late May Bates Dixon, and was a lifelong resident of the Canonsburg-Houston area. He was employed at the Fort Pitt Bridge Works.
Surviving are his wife, Pearl Lowman Dixon; four sons, William W. Jr., Pleasant Hills; Robert, Ft. Riley, Kan.; Larry, Riverside, Calif., and Ronald, at home; four daughters, Mrs. Bertha Golden, Canonsburg; Mrs. Dolores Young, Canons burg, RD 1; Mrs. Donna Klinger, Riverside, Calif., and Miss Judy Dixon, at home; his father, Grover C. Dixon, Pittsburgh; three sisters, Mrs. Zona Odum, Birmingham, Ala.; Mrs. May Smithers, Dallas, Tex., and Miss Margaret Dixon, Massillon, Ohio, and 14 grandchildren.
