Luetta June Gootee, 82, of Midwest City, died on August 6, 2019 at her residence, surrounded by her family. She was born on July 5, 1937 in Alfalfa, OK and was the fourth of six children to Orville Bee and Thelma Mae Ratliff. Luetta attended Alfalfa High School, where she was on the Women’s Basketball Team in conjunction with helping her Dad on the family farm. Her adult career was as a bookkeeper and clerk for the Dolese Company. After retirement, she traveled with her husband, Joe Gootee, throughout the United States, seeing many interesting places. Luetta was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Gootee; her parents; 2 sisters, Orvilla Mae Powers and Lucille Clinton; and 4 grandchildren, Erica Chanel Ward, Andrea Denise Carter, Jonathan Gootee and Shannon McAlister. She is survived by her children, Kenneth Keith Ward and his wife Charlene, Andrea June McAlister and her husband Phillip, Arnold David Carter, Jr.; 3 stepchildren, Stanley Gootee and his wife Marilyn, Norman Gootee and June Anderson; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, her sister, Lois; and brothers, Ralph and Eugene; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 9, 2019 at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Jones I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
