Phyllis Anzaldua, 63, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2008. She was born on June 6, 1945, in Cuero, to Candelario and Narissa Lopez Alaniz. She attended Jerusalem Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Veronica Birchum of Victoria and Brenda Cisneros of Victoria; four sons, Manuel Anzaldua Jr. of Cuero, Candy Anzaldua of Cuero, Marcus Anzaldua of Waco, and Rodney Anzaldua of San Antonio; husband, Manuel Anzaldua Sr. of Cuero; three sisters, Mary Mejias of Cuero, Gloria Alvidrez of Cuero, and Annie Flores of Manville; a brother; Candelario Alaniz Jr. of Cuero; and 16 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson.

Visitation will be at 6 p.m. today, followed by a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Freund Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Freund Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dan Cancino officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Pallbearers Johnny Galindo, Eddie Lee Gonzales, Mike Gonzales, Gordon Means, Chris Richards, and Giles Birchum.

Honorary pallbearers Lance Cpl. Chris Anzaldua, Ramiro Anzaldua, Phillip Anzaldua, Miguel Anzaldua, Allen Anzaldua, Alex Garcia, Isaac Cardenas, Fabian Ruiz, and Juan DelaToro.
