George is survived by his wife of 68 years Mary, daughter Ruth (Richard), grandchildren Joanie (Jim), Jesse (Lisa), great-grandchildren Jocelyn, Julia, and Cole. George was predeceased by daughters Susan and baby Christine, brothers Dave, Les, Bob, Gordon, Donald, Jim and sisters Dema and Selena. He was born in Portage LaPrarie, Manitoba to John Henry Alexander and Wilhelmina Duncan. Along with his siblings, he served in WWII in the Navy. George was a barber downtown Thunder Bay for over 60 years. His smiling face was known and loved by many. He was an avid gardener, fisherman, hunter, berry picker, curler, and card player. Most of all, he was an incredible husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. He had a kind heart, great wit, and intelligence judged no one and never complained.
