Stewart T. (Budd) Tanner, 63, former Utahn, died at his home in Glendale, California, Tuesday, according to word received in Salt Lake City.
He was born July 19, 1882, at Granger, a son of Stewart T. and Janet Coats Tanner. He was in the grocery business and also had been in the automobile business in Salt Lake City. He had lived in Glendale 10 years.
An active member of the LDS Church, he served six years as counselor in the Poplar Grove LDS Ward and was president of the YMMIA in Pasadena LDS stake. He also served as counselor to the bishopric of Glendale LDS Ward.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ethel Brown Tanner; two daughters, Mrs. John McLaughlin, and Mrs. Fred Petersen, Salt Lake City; a brother, William C. Tanner, Salt Lake City; five sisters, Mrs. A.J. Fagg, Mrs. Clarence Cowan, Mrs. J.E. Mackay, Mrs. Edgar Hill, and Mrs. Harold B. Lee, All of Salt Lake City, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday noon at 260 E. South Temple. Burial will be in Salt Lake City Cemetery.
