She attended school in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High, where she met her prince charming.
Owen Ray Tanner and Ina Lavonne Raat were wed on June 29, 1951 in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple.
Bonnie followed Owen from Ogden, to St. George by way of Centerville, Utah, Jackson Hole, Wyo., St. Anthony, Ammon, and Taylor, Idaho. Along the way they had 5 Children, Steven Ray (Bonnie), David Owen (Tammie), Lori Lynn (Bryan Johnson), Denise (Greg Hope) and Renae (Kevin Oswald). Bonnie and Owen have 17 Grand Children and 25 Great Grand Children. They loved and raised horses, chinchillas, and many canine friends, most notable being: Duke, Tag and Max.
Bonnie had many talents including: decorating wedding cakes, crocheting afghans and blessing outfits, and making her famous Fudge and Danish Pastry. Her most memorable traits will always be her laugh and the ability to tell, you like it is, “after all I’m 86”.
Bonnie was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many callings, but her personal journal reflects a great love for all the Young Women she served.
Bonnie is survived by: Her little brother “the Professor” Wm. Dirk (Gerry) Raat. Her Children: Steven, Lori, Denise and Renae, 16 Grand Children and 24 Great Grand Children.
Bonnie was proceed in death by: Her loving parents, Elmer & Iris Raat, her intelligent big sister and brother-in-law Edwin & Joann Ball, her precious angel great granddaughter Alexis Hammond, her fun loving beautiful granddaughter Kara Ann Tanner, her genealogy searching son David Owen Tanner, and her eternal sweetheart and companion “Jack of all Trades, Master of None”, Big “O”, Owen Ray Tanner.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at the Kearney LDS Chapel, 1860 Kearney Street, Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday before services. Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery. Funeral Arrangements are under the care of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. Idaho Falls.
