Paul J. Bergel, 52, of Francis Creek, died Saturday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, where he had been a patient a week.
Funeral services will be at 10 am Tuesday at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville and at 10:30 am at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Reif Mills. The Rev. John Haen will officiate and burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, town of Kossuth.
Mr. Bergel was born Dec. 13, 1920 in the Town of Kossuth, son of the late Frank and Anna Schultz Bergel. He married Vivian Stueber Lemberger June 25, 1959 at St. Michael Catholic church, Whitelaw. The couple lived in Francis Creek and Mr. Bergel was employed by the Manitowoc County Highway Department for the past 25 years. He was a member of the Manitowoc County Employees Local No. 986 and charter member of Francis C reek Lions Club, of which he was the present treasurer. He was clerk of the Village of Francis Creek, member of the Francis Creek Sportsmans Club, St. Anne Catholic church, Francis Creek and the Holy Name Society and usher at the church.
Survivors include his wife, a son, Michael of Southern Colony, Union Grove; two daughters, Mary lou at home and Mrs. Ernest (Bonnie) Krajnik Jr., of Francis Creek; a brother, Adolph of Whitelaw; two sisters, Mrs. Raymond (Evelyn) Ramaker, of Whitelaw and Mrs. Marcella Sudzinski of Denmark and two grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 pm until the time of service Tuesday. Prayer service will be at 8 pm Monday.
