John Buford "Boose" Rich, 92, of the Moss, Tenn. community, died Nov. 9, 2003, at the Monroe Health and Rehab Center.

He had been a sawyer at a lumber mill and was a member of the Midway Church of Christ.

Born in Moss on April 15, 1911, he was a son of the late John and Rhoda (Kellow) Rich. He was first married to Edith Rich and, following her death, married Ada (Craton) Rich, also now deceased.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Lee and Betty Rich, Tompkinsville; a daughter-in-law, Betty Meadors, Tompkinsville; a step-son, Lonnie Alvin Brown, Moss; three step-daughters — Anna Strong, Moss; Nelda Clements, Red Boiling Springs, Tenn.; and Daisy Renodin Hunter, Gainesboro; a sister, Stella Atchley, of Illinois; seven grandchildren, Teresa Ann Page, Dana Gaye Harlan, Jennifer Lynn Lankford, Anthony Lee Rich, Mark Rich, Jerrie Lee Wheeler and Bobbie Kaye Wilborn; 10 step-grandchildren, Lynn Chapman, James Martin Strong, Susan Birdwell, Becky Atkinson, Lonnie and Devrim Brown, Cherry Ann Denton, Mickey Clements, Jr., Susan Renodin and Debbie Fikes; 12 great-grandchildren; 17 step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and four step-great-great-grandchildren.

A son, Johnny Rich; a grandson, John Barry Rich; and a step-granddaughter, Julie Ballard, all preceded him in death.

Burial was at the Macedonia Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Jackie and Ethan Wheeler, Wyatt and Wesley Page, Tony and Daniel Harlan, Robert Lankford and Zeke Turner.
